Muskegon Co. man sentenced for shooting dog MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) - A Fruitland Township man has been sentenced for shooting a dog that strayed onto his property. Gregory Kruse, 49, will spend seven months in jail and serve five years probation after pleading guilty to one count of animal torture. He has also been ordered to pay $2982 in fines. In February, Doug Twa brought his dog, Lena to work at a construction site in Fruitland Township. The dog got loose and ran into Kruse's yard. Kruse shot Lena in the leg, shattering several bones. Twa later found out Kruse thought Lena belonged to a neighbor he had been feuding with.
