Perrigo has its most profitable quarter ever ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. (WZZM)- Drug maker Perrigo is riding a wave of cold and flu activity across the nation to its most profitable quarter ever. The company, located primarily in the city of Allegan, recently hired 50 news employees to keep up with the demand for the store-brand medicines it makes. Perrigo is not just surviving the economy it is thriving. Monday Perrigo reported a sales increase of 16 percent in its first quarter. Profits shot up 59 percent compared with the same quarter last year. As WZZM 13's Jon Mills reports, this is just the beginning of the cough, cold and flu season.
