Update: Fire Damages Graydon's Crossing

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) - Firefighters were called to a fire in the Creston business district at Plainfield and Leonard on Sunday, Nov. 1 around 2:30-3 a.m.

Flames reportedly erupted at Graydon's Crossing at 1223 Plainfield Ave N.E.

Witnesses say they heard fire trucks respond to the scene around 2 a.m.

The balcony area on the side of Graydon's Crossing appeared to have the most smoke damage; however, there is still no official word on any damages inside of the building.

ADVA Sure, an insurance business located beside Graydon's Crossing, also suffered fire damages to a portion of its building.

The owner of Graydon's Crossing, Larry Zeiser, says he will meet with the fire department, insurance and contractors Monday to go over everything.

He says his first priority is his employees.

"For now, we are talking to staff and developing plans, as we have great people who work for us and we want to make sure they are taken care of as soon as possible," Zeiser said.

There are no reports of injuries. Stay with WZZM13.com to find out more details of the fire that is still under investigation.
